I am already a fan of M.R. Joseph but Giving In is in my opinion her best book to date. Where do I even start, two lines into the prologue and I was hooked! I couldn't put it down, I was just sucked in, held captive by Cruz and Harlow.
There are elements of a story you've heard before here, sure boy from the wrong side of the tracks and the girl that's got it all, brains, beauty and money but that's where any similarities to other stories end.
Giving In is outrageously funny in parts, laugh out loud hilarious and at the turn of a page, absolutely heartbreaking. Joseph's ability to change the tempo of the story is remarkable. Be warned there is a cliff hanger in Giving In but don't let that dissuade you from picking it up, this has fast become one of my biggest recommendations of 2014, in a year that is so far undoubtedly produced some of my favourite reads.
Congratulations M.R. Joseph, Giving In left me with a book hangover I'm still trying to move on from, a hangover I probably won't recover from fully until Always In is sitting in my hot little hands.
